Merrie Meet
There are a large number of people who are fearful when it comes to discussions regarding the world of “spirits, ghosts and ghouls” and as we approach Samhain I thought it would be an interesting topic for the blog.
From
being a young child I have been very much aware that we are not alone in this
world, that there are “more things in Heaven and Earth than are dreamt of in my
philosophy” (to paraphrase a famous author and playwright).
Some
of these entities like to be mischievous and play pranks whilst others do not
and as a result many people are fearful of these spirit pranksters. It is therefore hardly surprising that
people are often scared by their ghostly goings on.
Many
people who work in the realms of spirit find fear of “bad spirits” to be their
biggest enemy yet in reality it is not the fear but the judgement that goes
with it that causes the problems.
Making
judgments that spirits are always bad or evil does not benefit anyone, it
simply serves to keep people in the dark and often masking the truth.
As
witches we are seekers of the things that are hidden or kept secret. We cannot and must not accept falsehoods on
the basis of an assumption. We must
strive to seek for what is beyond the veil, the things that are shrouded in
false first impressions and embrace what is mysterious.
And
to quote from “the travelling witch” (who inspired this particular post) –
“The truth that hides in
the dark, hidden from the world, is where true knowledge and power lies”
Blessed Be!
