Merrie Meet

Yule is the season associated with the Winder Solstice.  The solstice is the longest night of the year and the celebrations take place on or around the 21st December

This time of year is a time for renewals, reflection, the making of resolutions.  On this night we, as pagans, celebrate the rebirth of the sun and the balance of light and dark

The Winter Solstice by being the longest night marks the beginning of the new solar year and the ending of the old.  It is the time when The Goddess becomes The Great Mother and the God is born again as the Sun Child – thus continuing the ongoing and never ending cycle of birth, death and rebirth.

We light ceremonial fires to bring strength to the sun and to encourage its return.

Yule is s time to celebrate and to give thanks, with family and friends – we cherish the past and welcome the future.

At this time of year energy Is is best used for renewals and regeneration.  The power moves from endurance to death and rebirth and it is a time for rebirth of the mind and soul.

Yule is s time to set new things in progress, new god, new ideas, new dreams, hopes and projects are all being born as our thoughts and energies turn to consider the new season of life that is ahead of us.

The days may still be cold but the light will grow and the warm days of the Spring and Summer months will follow.
