Merrie Meet
As
we have now passed by the Winter Solstice and entered into a new phase of the
year I just wanted to keep this post simple as I understand many (including
myself) will still be “mid holiday”
The
Winter Solstice by being the longest night marks the beginning of the new solar
year and the ending of the old. It is
the time when The Goddess becomes The Great Mother and the God is born again as
the Sun Child – thus continuing the ongoing and never ending cycle of birth,
death and rebirth.
Because
Yule is s time to celebrate and to give thanks, with family and friends – we
cherish the past and welcome the future I felt it was also time to renew a
statement of who we are.
To
do this I have borrowed a short piece from a post by Karen Connolly which I
think sums it all up nicely
I
Am Pagan
I
am Pagan
We
exist everywhere
No,
we don’t believe in Satan,
Harming
others or
Oppressing
beliefs.
It’s
not trendy or hipster
We
live in harmony with nature
And
the Universe
And
with respect for all living things
It
is really that simple.
The
days may still be cold but the light will grow but take heart my friends
because the warm days of the Spring and
Summer months will soon follow.
ooooOOOOoooo
